About Elisa Wilson

Welcome! Let me introduce myself. I am an avid quilter and designer. I have three mostly grown children and I live with my adorable husband along with our dog and cat.

I started Backporch Design in 2000. Back then it was Backporch Dyeworks because I hand dyed a LOT of fabric. My specialty was dyeing the full spectrum of the color wheel. The business progressed to a retail shop, which was then sold to my sister-in-law. Now I am a "designer" who designs patterns, books, templates and other items for quiltaholics.

I have been on Quilter's TV, QNN, Kaye's Quilting Friends and America Quilts Creatively. I have also had some of my patterns in several magazines, including Asian Fabric and Quilter's World.

My love of color and creative imagination lead me to come up with many ideas based upon the same design. I never run out of ideas and before I have completed one idea I have 3 or 4 more ideas. This leads to a never ending supply of projects just begging to be finished.

I hope you enjoy my quilts and products. My goal is to help you have fun creating new quilts and to show you how easy it is to sew curves and to experiment with different colors and ideas.

Happy Quilting!
